[When Pietro enters his room late in the afternoon, it's with an almost palpable air of irritation. He stops just inside the doorway for all of half a second, glancing over at the new occupant who wasn't there this morning. He raises an eyebrow as he takes in Bobo's appearance, clearly making some kind of judgment, either about the man himself or simply the fact that he's here at all. Pietro rolls his eyes and sighs, ignoring the guy for a moment, setting two boxes on the small table, one cardboard that looks stained and falling apart, and the other a rectangular take-out container with a plastic window that displays its contents: a mixed selection of pastries and donuts. Only after he's opened that and snatched up a messy looking eclair does he address Bobo's presence, his words spoken like a statement as if he doesn't care to actually get an answer, but he needs something to say.]
[ Bobo was sprawled out on the bed, thankfully dressed for now. Sitting with his back to the wall, he is going through the device they gave him without a concern for the door opening or someone else coming in.
Just watching some video that another had posted to the whole interweb thing they have here. At least until he's addressed.
Slowly he raises his head, looking over the other slowly and curiously. ]
New. [ His gaze goes to the eclair and then box and then back to the man's face. ] Kicked back down. Is that when happens when your keep gets bored with you?
[Pietro scoffs almost indignantly, gesturing with the eclair.]
Please, no one would get bored with me.
[He furrows his eyebrows for a second, rethinking what he's claiming by that statement, an acceptance of this whole split society system and his place in it. It's a vibe he doesn't want to give off, and he shoves half the eclair in his mouth before he says something else to that effect. He's not quite done chewing when he dismissively waves away his own comment and gives more context.]
My roommate up there disappeared, went home. That happens.
[He shrugs like he's done with this conversation already, although he'd started it, and holds up the box of pastries.]
Don't let it be said you don't have a healthy ego, huh?
[ Not that he sounds at all bothered by that. He definitely knows a healthy ego himself.
Shifting so that his feet thump on the floor, giving the box a look and then giving the other guy one, not hiding that he looks confused by the offer. ]
Well, yeah...
[ He reaches out for one, hand steady but he's watching the other man to see what he does as he takes an eclair. ]
[He raises an eyebrow at Bobo's hesitation, like he's expecting some trick or rescinding of the offer. Though Pietro would like to consider himself intimidating, he's generally not perceived as such, and this is a strange reaction for him to get. He sighs in exasperation.]
Just take it already. They are leftovers from work.
[Pietro makes a little choked noise after the name registers, trying to cover a laugh.]
Bobo, is it? That is... That is something. I'm Pietro.
Glad you come from a place where you can just take candy from strangers and it's not poisoned. Bunch of blessed people in this place.
[ He takes a bite, even as he rolls his eyes. Maybe a tiny bit in relief for the sugar but a lot for the reaction. ]
That is the name you take to remind yourself that loyalty will always be turned on you. I mean, it's not a classy name like, I don't know, Pietro, but it has meaning.

[It's grumbled and has a tinge of bitterness to it, offended at being labeled 'blessed' in that way. He takes a second pastry, some over-filled raspberry thing, and gestures vaguely.]
What, so it is a title? Are there many Bobos? Back to the candy metaphor, though, a lot of it is poisoned here, or tainted. Not going to kill you, but you are right to be cautious.

[Pietro thinks he might not even notice to any significant degree if he did ingest it, though. He points to the eclair.]

[He waves his fingers towards himself, no food goes uneaten here.]

[Snatching two more items from the box for himself, Pietro leaves him to the rest, going to sit on his bed with a bit of a bounce.]
I like you, Bobo. So I am going to give you some advice, and then it won't be 'crappy' here either. Make a contract as soon as possible, all business, with someone who doesn't want to fuck you. My first one left, like I said, but I am not down here because I am waiting on a second. I found another one four days after the first. It's easy if you have no emotional attachment. Very good upgrade with her too. She's been here years, owns property and four or five businesses. I will run one, have access to her money, and she's buying me my own place. When it goes through, I am out of this this hotel again. I have been here two months, and I already have more than I ever had in my entire life. You can game the system in your favour if you play your cards right.
[ Bobo has spent so long trapped with others that he's used to the give and take of it all. So when the offer is made to help himself, he finishes the first and picks up another before dropping back down to sit on the bed.
He listens though, considering what he's saying intently. ]

People really go around getting attached to others here? Sounds like an idiot move. You though... I think you've got the right idea. Why not play this place for all its worth and live the good life?
